The Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at NYU offers the 2010 Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in Public Service (FELPS) to non-students for the past several years that provides career and moral support, professional development, and camaraderie to nonprofit professionals who are in the first years of their career. Deadline to apply is Sept. 16.
Here is some information about FELPS from the announcement:
The Fellowship prepares the next generation of leaders for meaningful careers in public service by providing structured opportunities to develop leadership skills and competencies, connect with a network of other dynamic and committed leaders, and explore the many facets of a modern public service career.
Fellows participate in an all-day orientation on Sunday, November 8, 2009, and twice-monthly evening workshops between November 2009 and May 2010.
This opportunity is provided at no cost to participants working in public service in New York City. The program provides a unique professional development opportunity as fellows refine their leadership and professional skills and awareness, broaden their understanding of the field, and make new connections within the public service arena.
For more information and to apply, check out the FELPS website. The deadline to apply is 5:00 pm EST on Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Direct questions to FELPS Program Manager Moschell Coffey at wagner.felps [at] nyu.edu.
